UO AI Council

The UO AI Council advises the provost on the integration of artificial intelligence across our institution. The council will be a platform for faculty, staff, researchers, and students to develop frameworks to ensure the effective and ethical use of AI in teaching, learning, research, and administration. The council's responsibilities include:  

Policy and Guidelines

Recommend policies, principles, and guidelines for ethical use of AI in teaching, research, and administration.  This includes data governance, privacy protection, and assessing risks associated with AI research and applications. 

Strategic Planning

Develop, recommend and review strategic plans for AI integration, outlining goals, priorities, and resource allocation.

Evaluation

Monitor ongoing AI initiatives, assess their impact, and make recommendations for improvements or adjustments as needed.
